I flip cards of a randomly shuffled 52-card deck over one by one. At any point you can say "STOP" and you win if the next card flipped is black. What's your probability of winning?

It turns out the answer is 50%. It feels like waiting to collect info should help but it doesn't - eg if you wait til the last card you will know for sure what it is, but it will still only be black 50% of the time.

The analogy in startups is: waiting longer makes you more likely to know if you're right. But not more likely to be right.

EU Inc could be a big step for Europe - it's why I've proudly supported its introduction and I'm celebrating today's news.

For European builders, the biggest hurdle has never been talent or ideas. It’s been friction: fragmented company law, slow incorporation, cross-border complexity that kills momentum before a product even ships.

EU Inc could attack that friction directly.

If builders can start a company in 48 hours, hire across borders with one stock option framework, and raise capital without rewriting their legal setup every time they cross a border, they will build faster. With less fear and more ambition.

That’s how we can unlock the next wave of European builders: by removing bottlenecks and thus eliminating excuses. This only works if it stays simple, optional, and founder-first. No extra layers. No half-adoption. No new maze.

If we get this right, Europe doesn’t just become easier to build in. It becomes the best place in the world to turn an idea into a real company.
