Abro hilo:👇
Congrats to Guillermo Sulimovich, who took down the South America series Regional Championship with the new Geological Appraiser Discover Combo from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan!
So here is my decklist that I have been playing and trophied 6 times with. This is likely the decklist that most players are playing tomorrow as well in RC Canada and some in RC Japan as well. I have also added my previous verson for comparison. It goes without saying but UW Control greatly benefits from open decklists which is likely why it has more presence in RCs than MTGO.

Below is the mighty long explanation of the deck compared to previous versions:
The new addition of Get Lost is now part of the core of the deck. This is because this is one of the most efficient spells ever printed in Pioneer. This card alone has solved a lot of issues that UW Lotus previously had with removal being weak in the early game, as well as now being capable of answering any planeswalker.
The previous versions of UW Lotus had tried to solve this issue by implementing a ton of boardwipes but that had issues by itself. Not all boardwipes are good in certain matchups, some are better than others. For example, Supreme Verdict is better against counter decks and Doomskar is better against Thoughtseize decks. They also have the disadvantage of being Sorcery speed. The issue is that these also do not answer planeswalkers. Get Lost is an instant speed answer that is basically only bad against a threat that is one mana. Sometimes, Get Lost is even more mana efficient than the threat itself which is a huge advantage in Control.
This is why Counterspells are the core of most UW decks. The expectation is that eventually, your counters will cost less than the threats which will allow you to slowly use card advantage to take advantage of the difference in mana each turn that you and your opponents are spending. The issue is that counterspells are extremely bad in Pioneer as they all have a clause, or they are 3 mana which is way too expensive for a counter. Counterspells in Modern are strong because they no longer have the clause. They cannot be played around. So fundamentally, you have a weaker counterspell that you are trying to hold up that does less and less for you as the game goes on, yet you are trying to stall the game as long as possible. This is a conflicting issue and why I think UW Control (Regular) is not good in the meta.
UW Lotus dodges this issue by now having hyper-efficient removal, Tale’s End that is a conditional counter but is a proactive answer to cheat in Lotus Field and Discontinuities (the mother of all counterspells in Pioneer). Discontinuity can be used as a Time Walk or a Counterspell depending on the situation and is the reason why the deck is so strong. After looping a certain amount of Discontinuities, the deck reaches a point of inevitability with Teferi that they cannot come back from the massive amount of card advantage that you obtained. Because Discontinuity is unconditional, this is a working strategy in Pioneer. Do you now see where the strength of UW Lotus lies? It is that: As the game goes longer, your spells inherently become stronger. That said, in regular UW, not all your spells become stronger and they can actually in fact become weaker over time. It is a contradictory strategy that is doomed to fail sometimes, while UW Lotus Field has no failure rate after a certain point.
After playing beanstalk in modern I thought it could help some decks I like in pioneer. First league with Yorion BeanToLight and I got the 🏆 (9-1 so far). Mana base was better than I expected. I'll make some changes maindeck to try new cards🌈

Many of you asked if I'm still fond of Murktide after LOTR... the answer is YES!
16-4 with this list that I'd sumbit in #LMSBologna
While I feel the deck gained two big enemies in Orcish Bowmaster and The One Ring, you still play the most efficient spells in Modern and you can be tuned to beat whatever!
Top 8 en el Showcase Challenge de Pioneer con Rakdos Sacrifice, iba a jugar Weenie, pero esperaba bastante así que cambiamos a última hora (a 5 minutos de empezar). Pairings:
Suizo: 6 MonoG (5-1), 2 WW (2-0) y 1 Spirits(1-0). La décima ronda me concedió el único 9-0.
Going live with a pretty wild brew for the Modern Challenge. Figured I'd start the stream early as I talk myself in and out of card choices for this monstrosity. https://t.co/KzHmalAUzy
WU Lotus Field still tier 0.
