In one of the easiest cuts we could make to our out-of-control government, Rep. Heather Scott introduced legislation this morning to eliminate the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs. "Last year, through DOGE, we started to look at some of these commissions and some of the bloat in government. And this is one that really caught our attention." The bill WOULD have dissolved the commission by July 1, eliminating 3 full-time government positions and saving taxpayers $546,400. Instead, it was struck down in committee. Representatives Skaug, Dygert, Mickelsen, Pohanka, Bingham, Church, and Haws all decided this DEI program needed to stay.

It's easy to forget about or ignore odd-year elections, but it is vital to remember: local elections matter. True liberty is often decided right here in our communities. Things that determine the quality of our daily lives, such as what our children learn and who determines our property tax rates, are on the ballot. Every single vote counts in these races, so take time today to get out and VOTE!

Boise School District voted to add $30.4 million in property taxes, Boise City Council voted to increase property taxes by 7.6%, and voted for a city-wide pay increase of 9%. Now, Boise residents will see a levy this November that will add $11 million more in property taxes which Boise City Council approved for "environmental" purposes.
