Freedom Flight Prize goal is to accelerate the decarbonisation of aviation through awarding a prize to the first zero carbon 100+ transatlantic passenger flight
In partnership with @SignatureFBO and @RepublicAirways, @BETA_aircraft completed a three-day series of electric flight demonstrations at Kissimmee Gateway Airport in central Florida using its Alia CX300 aircraft.
The demonstrations highlighted the growing readiness of electric aviation for cargo, passenger, medical, and logistics operations in both hot and cold weather environments. The campaign builds on earlier demonstrations in Vermont and New York and supports Beta’s broader push toward commercializing short-haul all-electric flight operations, with the company’s Alia aircraft having already logged more than 140,000 nautical miles globally.
Beta has now installed charging infrastructure at six airports across Florida, including new rapid-charging equipment at Kissimmee designed to perform efficiently in high heat and humidity. The effort is part of a broader collaboration between Beta and Signature Aviation to expand electric aircraft support infrastructure across the state.

Every wire & sensor on the #e200X is backed by 6+ years of digital and subscale missions (ATVAs & e50). Soon, you'll hear directly from The Crew That Built The e200X.
e200X PT-01 is coming. 🚀

Most of the attention on eVTOLs goes to the aircraft itself, and for good reason. But the aircraft is only one piece the equation.
@bonnysimi, our President of Operations, on the personnel and the operating infrastructure needed to bring this new technology into service.
The training programs that didn't exist. The maintainer pipelines being built from scratch.

Pilot readiness isn't often talked about, but it's one of the most critical paths to commercial service.
This timelapse shows a key piece of that work coming together: our @CAE_Inc-built full-motion simulator, installed at Joby's flight test facility.
Designed as a digital twin of our aircraft, these high-fidelity simulators provide a means of compliance and a robust tool to help prepare our pilots for the demands of high-volume operations in urban environments.
From crated components to a fully assembled rig, and soon, the environment where Joby pilots will train for electric air taxi operations.
Midnight is designed to be capable of taking off and landing conventionally (CTOL) or vertically (VTOL) to serve the full spectrum of flight operations and safety standards.
This dual-mode capability gives it the flexibility to operate safely across a wide range of infrastructure, from traditional airports and runways to urban vertiports and constrained landing zones.
Florida just passed a groundbreaking air taxi bill. Here’s what it does:
Exempts eVTOL aircraft from FL sales and use tax
Authorizes FL DOT to fund a portion of vertiport project costs
Requires FL DOT to expedite approval of vertiports
Preempts local governments from regulating vertiport design
Prevents local governments from regulating eVTOL charging stations
This bill helps reduce uncertainty, expedite approvals and move things forward efficiently.
Opening bell, rung. 🔔
In 2021, we listed on the @NYSE as a company with a vision for the future of flight.
Yesterday, we returned to ring the bell as a company flying that future over the skies of New York City.
Between those two moments: thousands of flight tests, entry into the final stage of the FAA type certification process, a deep manufacturing partnership with @Toyota, the acquisition of @flybladenow, and growing commercial partnerships with @Delta and @Uber ready to reshape how people move through cities around the world.
Thank you to the @NYSE, to our shareholders, and to the team that's made every step possible. $JOBY
A special day for Joby and American aviation. 🇺🇸🗽
Thank you to @USDOT, @FAANews, @SecDuffy and @WhiteHouse for the leadership that brought us here and for what comes next.
Who's ready to run it back tomorrow? 👏
April 14th we completed full piloted transition.
Starting from runway 08, we performed a vertical take-off and accelerated into wingborne flight. At this point, the aft propellers were stowed and the aircraft climbed in wingborne mode, continuing to fly conventionally.
We then decelerated to the required speed to initiate the transition phase. After reconfiguring for transition, we continued to decelerate on final approach, gradually reducing altitude before completing a controlled vertical landing.
