Dear Kurds: While Qatar & Turkey spend BILLIONS on lobbying in Washington DC, American Friends of Kurdistan fights on a fraction of that!
It’s time we back our own: Set up a recurring monthly donation to AFK and help Diliman Abdulkader secure our future!! https://t.co/6vzrGjRR96
Just held several meetings on the Hill.
Keep a look out for social media statements from Members of Congress on the situation in Syria, some you will like, some will be in the middle.
I’ll share them as they are released.
Members are aware of what’s going on in Syria, they’re not happy and are questioning Damascus but it’s important to realize I’m not the only one visiting these offices.
Damascus is backed by Turkey, Qatar, KSA, they are present and active.
I’ll keep up the pressure, I’ll keep informing them on the facts.
The Kurdish-led SDF are pivotal to U.S. national security interests in Syria, where Jolani has proven to be no different than the Assad regime.
Kurds, especially my fellow diaspora Kurds: Invest your time and resources in education. Advance yourselves in the sciences. Contribute to civilizational progression. Raise yourself over your enemies. You owe this to your people back home.
The EU must be kidding on the eve of an all-out war against Kurdish areas in Syria talking about a ceasefire that didn’t even hold for a minute.
In a failed attempt to return Syrian refugees, EU has effectively forfeited its values and moral credibility. https://t.co/cy8w7JHAle
Now this will antagonize Kurds globally. The name of the campaign that Saddam Hussein launched against the Bashur Kurds in Iraq was called the Anfal Campaign, after Surat Al-Anfal. I cannot overemphasize how dehumanizing this is for Kurds in Rojava.
Halabja wasn’t just a massacre. It was a message carved into Kurdish history, consciousness, and psychology with gas and fire. It warned the world what happens when Kurdish lives are treated as disposable. And the world ignored it.
Now, STG threatens to invade Kobane and northern Hasakah. Different flag, different year, but the same formula: isolate the Kurds, dehumanize them, and strike when the world is distracted.
The same arrogance. The same belief is that Kurdish suffering won’t matter to anyone outside Kurdish circles. happened because the world decided Kurdish lives were “optional.” Kobane is under threat for the same reason.
The lesson of Halabja is brutal and simple: When the world stays silent, Kurds bleed. When the world hesitates, Kurdish children become targets. When the world excuses aggression, it writes the first chapter of the next atrocity. Kobane bled to stop ISIS. Kobane carried the burden for humanity. Now humanity has one job in return: stop another disaster before it begins.
TURKISH AIRSTRIKES are hitting SDF-fortified heights at Kizwan Dağı, the last natural defense before Christian-majority Tell Tamer is overrun by al-Julani’s jihadists.
Local Christian civil defense is distributing rifles to citizens.
Daesh prisoners are a mutual problem for all Syrians and the prisons must be protected. Threats to break into prisons or threats to abandon them put everyone at risk. There needs to be intervention by the Americans to stabilize the situation and ensure these people don’t get out.
This is my last final tweet. To my Kurdish brothers and sisters all around the world: today we need you. Rojava is on the verge of a genocidal war, and if it falls, no Kurd will be able to hold their head high again. Support your people in every possible way.
If Kurdish media has one task today, it is this: to uphold its core moral and national responsibility by urging Kurds everywhere to mobilize for peaceful protest against jihadist groups and to show clear support for Rojava.
Urgent...
Ahmed al-Shaar (al-Jolani) has deployed warplanes to bomb the southern area of Kobani – the Sarrin junction, resulting in three fatalities and two civilians wounded.
#Scoop: Today's talks in Damascus failed after Damascus rejected all Kurdish rights and demands total surrender. Two broken promises by US Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack contributed to the collapse; Multiple sources in Syria and Rojava confirmed this to me.
Besides being a close Epstein associate, @USAMBTurkiye has a long history of Kurdish genocide back to 1975. He's acting with Erdogan to finish the Syrian Kurds. Remember how his 2018 and 2019 Trump45 betrayals worked out? His base turned on him and likely cost him 2020.
By civilians, he means an Arab Muslim with an Ak47 and a vest with 10 mags and a couple grenades
thats what a “Civilian” means when referring to Arab Muslims especially in Syria
What is happening to the Kurds right now is important, because they’re not being attacked just by Syrian forces. They’re being attacked by Turkish forces too. Everything happening there right now is driven by Erdogan and his drive to completely wipe out the Kurds.
And that’s exactly why it is so crucial that Israel steps in and helps the Kurds. Yes, it will cause a war. Yes, it will piss off Arab nations. Yes, it will almost certainly piss off the US. But none of these are doing a damn thing to help the Kurds, just as none of them did a damn thing to help the Druze or the Alawites or the Syrian Christians.
With Iran weakened, Turkey has quickly stepped in to take its place. And together with funding and political support from Qatar, Turkey is making Syria even more dangerous and a threat than it was under Assad. And the US is just sitting back and allowing it.
This threat will soon hit our borders. It will be one of the most dangerous threats to Israel in a long time, and we need to take it head on now before it gets even stronger. And the Kurds are people who have been allies to us and the US against ISIS and Iran. We will pay the price if we don’t help them now. We must
