Statement Don Carlo bukan tanpa alasan.

Iran basecamp nya di Meksiko. Tiap mau main di AS, mereka cuma dikasih waktu dateng sehari sebelum match, bahkan perjalanan Tijuana ke LA yang harusnya singkat jd makan waktu 5 jam gara2 imigrasi. Abis main, langsung disuruh balik gaada recovery.

Pelatih Iran, udah nyebut Iran sebagai tim "paling tertindas" di turnamen ini. Federasinya udh komplain ke FIFA, tapi kondisinya tetep sama sampai grup stage kelar.

Belum lagi, laga terakhir mereka (vs Mesir) dijadiin "Pride Match" oleh panitia lokal Seattle, bertepatan sama perayaan LGBTQ+ tahunan kota itu. Iran dan Mesir udah protes ke FIFA dari Desember, minta acara itu dibatalin tapi ya gitulah wkwk.

Kapten Iran Mehdi Taremi ngasih statement setelah ditanya soal ini setelah laga:
