Forbidden West’s wave system was one of the most complex systems we build. It uses sequence of images that contain 3D vector displacement to make it possible to have waves break and collapse on themselves. Something that is hard to do, especially if it also needs to work on PS4.

Opened up Hive Social this morning to find everything blank.

Found out they shut down their servers as a precautionary measure to fix some goatse sized security holes.

App still feels janky to me and still way too Algorithmic.

Also, it seemed that Hive is mobile only right now, and you have to use a phone number to create an account. It wouldn’t let me use an email/password combo.

First impressions: Hive feels like insta or TikTok with text in addition to images and video. The Algorithm™️ makes its presence known.

Mastodon feels a lot like Twitter, particularly back it’s early days.

Today in Tactic's Ogre, I reached a certain part of the game and my chat couldn't help but spam things like "Oh here we go" or "Time to see what you choose".

Please don't do shit like that. It absolutely destroys any sort of surprise or suspense the scene might have had.
