Google and Apple are playing iSpy with your little phone to see where you have been. If tech companies track you 24-hours a day and sell the data to advertisers, it's legal. If a person did the same thing, it would be called stalking.

@doctorow @carlmalamud For example Australia Standards charge $220AUD+ for AS/NZS 3000:2018 Electrical installations. How would a customer know if their electrician did a good job or followed the standards?

@CarrieBenatti @doctorow Hi Carrie, it was definitely put into place for a period as users were not able to update the bios on Gen8's without paying for the privilege. Currently there is the following note on HP's download page. Could any one with an Enterprise account able to shed any light?
Hi Software Freedom Fighters,
We have released the Software Freedom Day 2020 videos of our fantastic speakers at: https://t.co/MtWrUogPcp

Remember, the "cloud" (free or paid) is just someone else's computer. The true owner (not you) can take it away at anytime, for any reason without recourse.

This looks very promising for the future of open hardware and mobile tech in particular. Precursor is not for normal users, but it will help users in the future by creating a community of devs who value freedom.

Here is an example of why "open-source" licences (APL in this case) neither protects the user's or the developer's freedoms. Using the AGPL would preserve the freedoms of all users and developers if a cloud service provider forks the project.
Oh @awscloud I really do 💕 you! But next time you fork my OS project https://t.co/6MCUyRxxYv and present it as your new service, give the maintainers a short "nice job, kids" or something. Not necessary as per the APLv2 license, but still, ya know?

Don't want to save all your personal information on someone else's computer?
