Humidity has reached Florida-like levels in Southern California.

Dew points have soared into the mid-to-upper 70s along the San Diego coastline, with a dew point of 79°F recorded in Carlsbad on Friday. This is considered "oppressive" to downright "miserable" humidity.

If confirmed, the 79°F dew point in Carlsbad would likely be one of the highest ever recorded along the California coast.

Water temperatures reached nearly 77°F off La Jolla yesterday evening.
