@SpikyCaterpillr@LansorHQ@EU_Commission But by extension, +10% isn't much on a $20 order (we pay 15% in New Zealand) but €3 is a lot on a 50 cent order, and adds up if you have six or seven different items in your cart.
If you're a one person operation making small electronics, that's a big ask.
@LPNH The only virtue of democracy is that it keeps any party or individual from holding power indefinitely.
It is a system for keeping things from being done to you, not for getting things done.
Even then, it is still mob rule, and as South Africa shows, the mob can be very mobby.
@Jon_FFTnIFFT@EU_Commission And at least the US is rich enough to absorb the cost, and has a Supreme Court that ruled the tariffs unconstitutional.
Where is the Supreme Court in the EU to stop this?
@luisnomad@theEuropoor@EU_Commission The US had the same problems with Trump's focus on tariffs, and people complained about it bitterly. But at least there was an element there of trying to protect US manufacturing. No such excuse exists in the EU.
Focus on the actual problem rather than ad hominem.
@EU_Commission My question is, are you stupid, or do you think your audience is?
The customer will pay your €3 tax on every line item in their basket, even if it's a 50 cent electronic item.
They're not even items you produce in the EU, where some protection might be justified.
@desert_starr_57 I could probably write short stories for them, but the stories would have strong masculine men, and strong feminine women, who like each other, so Hollywood wouldn't like that.
@jondelarroz Captain Marvel. Supergirl is powerful, but she's a mess, and it seems like her arc is about straightening herself up again. Captain Marvel was just... there.
The old Marvel way to balance heroes was to give them glaring failings, eg. Sentry v Void.
@magozone23 It's Japan, right? Most guys have black hair, usually short?
That's like complaining a story set in Zimbabwe has too many black people in it.
@zkurishi If it's any consolation, the people who come up with the criticism weren't reading the manga, or watching the anime, anyway.
Unfortunately the element you're talking about have already destroyed Western entertainment, and the best advice you can give creators is to block them.
