@jenpop7725@Iamtammytavares My sister and her family live in Frisco and my parents still live in Plano (in their 80s). It’s not overrun with anyone. Diverse, yes. All DFW is. But that area is very family-oriented upper middle class and lovely as you said. Shopping, restaurants, lots to do.
This is Adam Hoffman. He repeatedly raped a Texas boy — for nearly three years — dozens and dozens of times.
Tomorrow morning, May 25th 2026, he will be released from McLennan County Jail after spending just a few weeks there. He will not be required to register as a sex offender. And very soon he’ll be allowed to practice law again.
A real and dangerous predator — a present threat to Texas children — will be as free as you and me. A slap on his wrist and a spit in the face to his victim.
Why?! How?!
Because that’s the deal he made with Ken Paxton.
Vote accordingly.
@CaryKelly11 Thanks for mentioning some of the other preventative measures that are being slowly implemented. Getting systems to change SUCKS, it is always an uphill battle against ingrained habits and bureaucracy, and lives are lost in the process. I’m so sorry.
@SaraGonzalesTX Funny, I left Plano/N Dallas because I was tired of dealing with stuck up moms on the playground who couldn’t handle anyone who didn’t look or act like them and I wanted my kids to get to be friends with a wide range of people. They ended up Ivy League and studied abroad.
@HallsInTheKid@JustBeNice_UwU@AppyOrtho The ‘costs’ we see on our bills and what our insurance gets billed are massively inflated and not the true costs of care. Cash prices are MUCH lower. If you don’t realize the real problem is insurance and our privatized system, then you are part of that problem.
@HallsInTheKid@JustBeNice_UwU@AppyOrtho They aren’t responsible at all. More US citizens get emergency healthcare without paying than undocumented immigrants do. More immigrants pay full cash prices and more than offset the costs of those who don’t pay.
@All_Enemies1@AmandaMAtwell Original post is Austin based. Kroger couldn’t compete with HEB here bc prices too high. No Kroger here now. Regional thing. Been to HEB in DFW though and you’re right. Maybe once the newness fades it’ll be different there too. 🤷
@Malvolio421@AmandaMAtwell Mmmm. My nearest doesn’t have an olive bar. I’m bereft. But it IS essentially a mini international mkt so I’ll take it. I love that HEB tunes in to the micro demographics of each store’s location. I’m white, but my palate is really global.
@dust_hustle@AmandaMAtwell@kylecotner And my (many) Muslim neighbors are just fine, thanks. They’ve never been an issue any time in my many years here. Other than traffic. But hey, the Christian school on the same road blocks it up just as often so 🤷
@sues86453 Jose doesn’t get welfare benefits and pays into the system via taxes any time he buys anything. You’re full of it. As usual. Joe gets quite a few more than you mention, especially if he is sole income. $52k is low enough to qualify for quite a bit.
@MarcusFelonius@Michaelotc13@pitacilina @Tanyaelisabeth Sigh. I know we aren’t going to agree, and that’s fine. But if you are serious at all about really wanting to read/think about them, here. This doesn’t actually make claims any particular way, but does a deep dive into these questions far past binary thinking.
@MarcusFelonius@Michaelotc13@pitacilina @Tanyaelisabeth No. That is not “basic science”.
The things that define being human are biological AND cognitive, social, and philosophical, not singularly dimensional. Please engage in the discussion past a junior high level?
@MarcusFelonius@Michaelotc13@pitacilina @Tanyaelisabeth Dude, a fetus is a potential person that is alive as an extension of the mother. Your leg is alive too, but isn’t going to be alive if you cut it off. Until the fetus can be alive without being attached, which def isn’t at conception, it is not a human being.
@MarcusFelonius@Michaelotc13@pitacilina @Tanyaelisabeth Personhood IS a social construct, as is a human being. Same difference, and both are defined by things a fetus does not have, including self-awareness, reasoning, and emotions. So, abortion is not killing a person/human being.
@pitacilina@Michaelotc13 @Tanyaelisabeth Not a child yet. Not a “betrayal”. There’s nothing to betray. That’s a construct based on belief that a fetus has some sort of mental or emotional state with literally no evidence to support that.
