Their thought process boils down to 'my party = approved, rival party = rejected'. The whole parliamentary post needs to either be restructured or eliminated entirely

Almost useless. They often hold privileged seats in parliament for 20 years, enjoying the associated advantages while contributing little to strengthening our constitution and laws. Their votes on legislation typically follow party lines, with little regard for constituents during such vital decisions.
