In this new paper, we described the calls of eight frog species, including one that is extinct.

Happy to share that the last chapter of my thesis has just been published! We tested possible visual cues on mate-choice process of D. versicolor. This work was made possible thanks to @AgenciaFAPESP.

And soon it will be present at @ISBE2024
New paper: We evaluated the geographic variation of body color and acoustic properties across different 'Boana albomarginata' populations. Our study also demonstrates that color might transmit information about male body condition, within a possible multimodal context
I would like to share that I successfully defended my thesis, entitled 'Anurans acoustic and visual communication, their multicomponents, and implications in the multimodal context,’ in the Ecology program at Unicamp. Thanks to everyone who was part of this moment!
We demonstrate that 50% of the evaluated populations have not been sampled in the last 50 years, including populations with significant recent sampling efforts.

This new paper is the result of a comprehensive review of the spatiotemporal records of the 'giants' of the Atlantic Forest, ‘Ceratophrys aurita’, ‘Megaelosia’ spp., and ‘Phantasmarana’ spp.
We reviewed the available literature, records in scientific museums (and their digitized collections), and data from citizen science platforms. The temporal data shows the decline of these species in the 1970s and 1980s, which had already been warned by other previous studies.
Today another species from our biodiversity is presented: 'Odontophrynus toledoi'
This toad was named in honor to Dr. Luís Felipe Toledo @LaHNAB_UNICAMP @Dr_FelipeToledo, my advisor, he’s introduced me to the frogs’ world, and has been following me throughout my academic life
NEW PAPER OUT 🐸
Using data from #CitizenScience we evaluate over 450,000 photographs of frogs. We wanted to know where they sheltering! +
ARTIGO NOVO 🐸
Usando dados da #CiênciaCidadã, avaliamos mais de 450 mil fotos de sapos. Nós queríamos saber onde eles se abrigam! +
In this paper, we investigated the influence of background noise from rivers and streams on acoustic allometry of the rheophilic family, Hylodidae
Acoustic allometry, background stream noise and its relationship with large-bodied and voiceless rheophilic frogs. Zoolog. Anzeiger
Glad to share my latest paper, just published in Behaviour - Communication across multiple sensory modes: quantifying the rich behavioural repertoire of a Neotropical torrent frog (+ for see some videos) @LaHNAB_UNICAMP
Also, the paper is an example that visual signaling is quantifiable and could be used to compare individuals, populations, and species, as typically done with calls +
