But yeah, these noises?? It MUST be the wild animal that killed my little buddy, because it’s like… scratching, randomly in the night? – it’s been driving me CRAZY lately. Not helping my exhaustion at ALL.

I’m better now, thanks to my buddies for being there for me.
But between the weird noises I keep hearing at night, and Whiskers, and the freaking landlord, I just need to buckle down and save and get out of this hellhole – I knew the deal on this apartment was too good to be true

I am crying again, and am DEFINITELY calling in sick later today.
And my landlord had the GALL to blame ME for a DEAD CAT in MY APARTMENT.
I didn’t think I left the window open again – and I CERTAINLY wasn’t hiding Whiskers away.

Whiskers came back!! But poor guy must have been through a tough time, because he saw me and HISSED AT ME. I had to back off from going in to pet on him - but after a minute of him sniffing at me, he came right up, purring away, like he mistook me for a stranger / a threat!

Caught up with an old friend over coffee today.
It's amazing how some friendships just pick up right where they left off.

Haven’t seen Whiskers in a hot minute - at least a few days.
I’ve never owned a cat (lord, I still don’t, technically) but they sort of do their own thing, right?
So him not being around for a while (being a feral-ish cat and all) makes sense, but I’m being paranoid about it...

Found a cool park nearby. Took a long walk and just enjoyed the fresh air.

So I nearly came undone, but I walked into the apartment today and WHISKERS WAS THERE INSIDE TO GREET ME – apparently I left the window open and he helped himself??

Tried cooking a new recipe today. - Let’s just say I won’t be trying that again anytime soon. 😂
The fire alarm is working though, so that’s good!

Had a rough day at work yesterday, but Whiskers was waiting at my door when I got home. Definitely brightened my mood.
I had to thank Whiskers for being my new buddy, so I went and bought a cat toy on my way home today and he is LOVING it. I bet I’m his favorite neighbor.

Got another paycheck! Feels good to have some cash flow. Time to treat myself to something nice…

Maybe some melatonin gummies and a weekend away from work. Lol.

Whiskers seems to like me. Comes over almost every day now. Thinking of getting some cat treats for him. Is that too much? The landlord was SUPER strict about ‘No Pets’ in the apartment, but I mean, he’s not MY PET, per se…

Dude gives me the creeps, but at least everything’s in order.
