By hook or by crook we need three points tonight.
Little optimism though. Derry like the grass and surprise surprise now looking more balanced without the selection circus that came with McLean.
Huff and Puffhemians. So blunt in the final third it’s frightening.
Pats excellent. Leavy is a super little player. He carries the ball unbelievably. He, Lennon and Baggley strangled the game at times.
@BryanPMoore Not disagreeing that we need a plan B (which in my opinion with no DJT Martin should get a start or two). I think breaking Todd and Hickey up would be madness.
Why did we wait til stoppage time to inject some tempo. Of course there are two teams but seemed like there was a conscious shift after 90mins. Frustrating.
Tierney doesn’t impact the game out wide. Needs to be back behind the striker IMO. I’m a fan of Whelan but he needs a
@Markochief Agree in one sense but he can play it. Shown in the past he can. He also hasn’t had a run of games like this in years so he’s out on his arse. Also not helping that Tierney is wide.
Lucky enough to come away with a point. Thought Dundalk were excellent to be fair. Outfought and out worked us.
The amount of crosses we continued to allow into our box was alarming tonight. As is our lack of creating chances from open play over the last three games.
Opposition were poor but that was great last night. Back 4 looking very solid. Amazing what happens when u have defenders defending. Can’t remember the last time we didn’t have midfielders in the back line. Delighted for Whelan.
On to what will no doubt be a quiet one next Fri
@seidodge 3 saves. Tierney and the 2 from Parsons (who made it easy). But the fact he only went down once was his greatest contribution to the game! Normally gets a rub from the physio every 10 mins. Lennon your standout (as always is when I see him).
Left two points behind. That first Parson’s miss was awful. Could have slid it left, right or through his legs. Could have rounded him. Blasts it straight at him. Such an infuriating player.
Much better in the second half than the first and better when Whelan came on.
