The Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival wraps up its weeklong celebration on Thursday with a full day of powerful events honoring Black freedom, culture, and community resilience. Now in its third year, the festival has grown into the largest Juneteenth celebration in the DMV, paying tribute to the historic Scotland community in Montgomery County.
Thursday’s Schedule Highlights:

• Opening Ceremony – 9:00 AM
• Wellness & Social Action Pavilion – 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Cabin John Park
• Family Carnival & Parade – 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Parade kicks off at 2:00 PM
📍 Scotland A.M.E. Zion Church
• Kinship Communities Exhibit – 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
📍 Shirley Povich Field
• Fireworks & Tailgating – Starting at 5:00 PM
• Clarence Isreal Juneteenth Classic Baseball Game – 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
From cultural exhibits and parades to fireworks and baseball, the final day promises joyful reflection and celebration for all ages.
