People are too quick to call Cristiano Ronaldo "washed" because Portugal drew while Messi scored a free kick. Football doesn't work like that.
Ronaldo is 41 years old and is still starting for Portugal, scoring goals, leading the line, and competing at the highest level. Most players don't even make it to 36 at the top level, yet he's still making defenders work every game.
Greatness isn't judged on one match. If Messi scores today, it doesn't suddenly make Ronaldo finished. If Ronaldo scores tomorrow, it doesn't make Messi finished either.
These are arguably the two greatest footballers of all time. Instead of forcing comparisons after every game, appreciate that both have achieved things most players can only dream of.
