@forcemm@FairTicketing@Ticketmaster Categorically not true, loads of extra dates are added because of initial tickets going to resellers. Organisers simply can't add dates until tickets are sold early on. So actually way more fans end up seeing events as a result, not the exact same number.
@FairTicketing@FanFairAlliance Let's not be under any illusion that Twickets isn't about making huge profits from ticket resale. This was a slide from an investment drive several years ago. Legislation would mean higher prices (more platinum/in-demand), and more money for Twickets.
@The_Caz@Callumr90871301@FanFairAlliance@viagogo A seller on Viagogo would not get paid until well after the event once the buyer has not raised an issue. A buyer would always get a refund if they didn't get in. It's far safer than all the social media scams out there, where you don't get tickets or your money back.
@rogerturner85@FairTicketing Yep it really does show what they think of the fans, the fact theyโd rather risk having hundreds/thousands of empty seats just to maximise their platinum income. And the fan fair campaign group say what about this sort thing? Nothing because they donโt actually give a damn.
@FanFairAlliance @duplicated2210 @markhmcgivern@kevinbridges86@GerryCinnamon@MumfordAndSons Any view on fans who purchased tickets only getting refunds on the FV part of the primary purchase (85-90%), when the primary has done nothing more than provided an order confirmation, and where the tour was rescheduled for commercial reasons? Even Viagogo give a full refund.
@ByRobDavies@questingvole Ticketmaster do this all the time with no right to refund so itโs much more than a Viagogo issue. Are we saying when a primary changes the delivery type there should be an automatic right to a refund as well, or is this just because itโs Viagogo?
@iamjackstephens@FairTicketing CMA have said clearly that whether it's classed as a license or ticket, same rules apply. You can't just put something in T&Cs and say it's binding. Can call it a license, say it's their property, it doesn't matter. Unfair terms and classifications don't mean anything.
@FairTicketing@CMAgovUK In fact the open letter to organisers specifically says "commercial" reasons aren't legitamite yet Ticketmaster do a double wammy by attempting to restrict all resale to their website (to get another set of booking fees) and using platinum to charge well over the market price.
@FairTicketing@CMAgovUK Absolutely. Just checking the list of legitimate reasons defined by @CMAgovUK for using restrictions and funnily enough I can't see "to enable the promoter to drip feed the primary market whilst limiting competition on marketplaces to maximise profits" on there.
@FairTicketing Probably because if demand then isnโt there it would be embarrassing to start cancelling orders and dates. Reckon that would happen a fair bit on events with resale restrictions really quashing demand not just from traders but consumers not wanting to be told what they can do.
@PeterClarke291 @FairTicketing One thing they haven't rolled out to mobile at lightening speed... Ticketmaster Gift Cards. If they offer their own gift cards in physical OR e-ticket format because they know consumers like the choice, why force consumers to go mobile on events? https://t.co/IHZwa2b4uN
@iamjackstephens@FairTicketing How is it intended to prevent scalping? This is about Ticketmaster Resale which you canโt use for profit so no scalpers would use. Itโs more likely event promoters just want to force non profit (consumer) resale through profit making platforms they have a commercial interest in.
@FairTicketing@TicketmasterUK@CMAgovUK@STARticketing@viagogo Surely within 5 days of an event is when consumers are most likely wanting to resale tickets so why ban it at that point? If someone gets ill or something comes up last minute what can they do then?
@panicmedic @FairTicketing@CMAgovUK But don't lose sight of the fact Twickets was founded to make a fortune for their shareholders from platform fees. The make multi-million ยฃs in revenue from fans that often struggle to sell a ticket with them or could have got closer to the price they originally paid elsewhere.
@PeterClarke291 @FairTicketing@NME@FanFairAlliance Refund at Face Value lol... can you get a refund at Ticketmaster Platinum prices as well and then buy a cheaper ticket the day before?
@FairTicketing@ByRobDavies@CMAgovUK@CMAgovUK say if an event organiser uses restrictions they should have "taken all the steps below to reduce the potential harm to consumers" otherwise THEY could face enforcement action - up front clear terms is just one of them. Yet no mention of this in the article for balance?
@FairTicketing@ByRobDavies@CMAgovUK It just shows how out of touch Rob is on secondary ticketing law. Either that or he's deliberately misleading his readers because of his bias against the sector.
