I've been attending EVO and EVO Japan every year since 2016, and this year, for the first time, I finally won. I’d like to share a few thoughts here. Translations in Korean and English will be added in follow-up posts.
As I mentioned in my victory speech, winning EVO has been a long-time dream. It was a dream I chased with many friends, but year after year passed without results, and most of the players from my generation in Korea slowly disappeared from the scene. Still, I didn’t want to give up. That’s when I decided to move to Japan.
Deep down, I wanted to prove that my generation was strong enough — by winning something big like EVO or AWT. Now that I’ve finally done it, I truly hope that my friends from back then can look back on those memories with a sense of pride.

@hotashis Mixing in positive comments about what someone does right is helpful too. You don't have to gas them up but small comments about a combo, pressure sequence etc is nice. Reinforcing the good stuff someone does is useful alongside fixing the bad.
