We remember and celebrate the life of Carlos R. Abril, Professor of music education, associate dean for research, alumnus, mentor, and friend.

An educator and respected scholar, Abril devoted his life to music education through teaching, research, and mentorship. After returning to the Frost School in 2011, he inspired generations of #FrostBuilt students to become thoughtful educators and leaders through advocacy and belief in the power of music. His kindness and commitment to others left a mark on our community, students, colleagues, and alumni around the world.
