Today's Pastor's Pick is about Catholic art - the Pieta by Michelangelo (St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican)
Carved from a single block of Carrara marble when Michelangelo was in his twenties, the Pietà shows the Blessed Mother holding the body of her crucified Son. Mary’s face is young and serene; Christ’s body is tenderly composed. The work invites contemplation of redemptive love: sorrow held within trust, and beauty that does not deny the Cross.
Today's Pastor Pick is a Traditional prayer: The Memorare — for those who need help and feel alone.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Situation: When you or someone you love needs Our Lady’s help and feels abandoned.
Today's Pastor's Pick is a Catholic devotion - the Morning offering.
Each morning, offer the day—prayers, works, joys, and sufferings—to God, often through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and united to the Mass. This simple habit turns ordinary hours into a continuous gift. It is meaningful because it sanctifies the whole day at its start and keeps the heart oriented toward God amid distraction.

Today's "Pastor's Picks" is a book suggestion -"Introduction to the Devout Life" by St. Francis de Sales
Written for ordinary Christians living in the world, this classic shows that holiness is not reserved for the cloister. De Sales guides readers gently through prayer, virtue, and the little duties of daily life. Ideal for anyone beginning (or renewing) a serious spiritual path without leaving family, work, or parish life.
In light of recent events, I’d invite people to take another look at this video I did in 2020. A lot of the cultural tumult we experience is driven by ideas. But these ideas are not unassailable, and we have answers to them.

St. Pats....A Picture of the Seven Sisters Apostolate here at St. Patrick! The Apostolate involves one woman each day praying for one hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament 7 days a week. Our priests have someone praying for them everyday for one hour! How wonderful!
Last Sunday we heard Jesus pray for His disciples to be one, protected from the evil one, and sanctified in truth as He ascends to the Father.
This week, let’s live it out by:
• Praying daily for unity in your family, parish, or the wider Church
• Seeking reconciliation or deeper understanding in one relationship that feels divided
• Grounding yourself in God’s Word (reading or recalling one promise from Scripture) when facing challenges

"...the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God. the humble and persevering investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are." (CCC 159)

🙏 Tuesday Spiritual Check-in | Sunday May 10
Last Sunday we heard Jesus’ command to love one another as He has loved us — the hallmark by which the world will know His disciples.
This week, let’s live it out by:
• Performing one deliberate act of sacrificial love for a family member or friend (even when inconvenient)
• Choosing kind and patient words in a moment of irritation or disagreement
• Praying specifically for the needs of someone difficult to love

Last Sunday we heard that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches; apart from Him we can do nothing, but remaining in Him brings fruit that lasts.
This week, let’s live it out by:
• Starting each day with a short prayer of abiding (“Lord, I remain in You today”)
• Pruning one unhelpful habit or distraction that pulls life away from Christ
• Bearing fruit by performing one hidden act of love or service for someone else
