There is so much COVID out there everyone. As I teacher I’ve avoided it for two years but three teaching family members , all our kids , and many students contracted the virus since masks were removed in schools. It’s all on the Houston Government for a bad decision #nspoli#nsed
Hippos can’t technically swim
The perfect combination of buoyancy and bone density allows them to “fly” thorough water at speeds of 5mph, (8 kph)
propelling themselves using intermittent ground contact, like astronauts on a moon walk
If it’s not equivalent to their failing rate based on position on the pay scale, it’s not enough. Why should a teacher with 5 years in get 67% of a first year teacher for subbing ?
The whole situation should never happen again to anyone. Use the law of the land in place for the tax year , and deal with changes only by Dec 31st. Anything after is effective on the next year. #canpoli@CanRevAgency@NSTeachersUnion
BillC-8 passed third reading in the Canadian Senate last evening and has received Royal Assent. The delay in passing this bill had prevented the Canada Revenue Agency from processing tax returns in which teachers have claimed the School Supply Tax credit.

I wonder how fast bill c-8 would pass if the Senators and MPs had their money tied up because a change to the tax deductions was unpublished at the time of filing ? I bet faster than this. 50,000 teachers continue to wait for much needed refunds #BillC8#canpoli
The amount of Covid-19 active in our school is insane. More cases than my colleagues and I can track. Another day I’d like to put out there I don’t want to get mildly Sick. Our office cannot disclose who has covid in my classes to me despite parents telling them #nsed#nspoli
I wonder what the government numbers is for kids with covid before digging their heads out of the sand ?
10% missing above normal is fine according to the premier. I’ve had multiple close contacts already in my classes this week where I get to go home to my unvaccinated 4yo.
“If a parent calls a teacher and says ‘Hey, my kid is COVID positive, you should self-isolate. Please pass that along to other people,’ they’re being told they’re not allowed to do that,” says NSTU President Paul Wozney.
Schools will not be safe on Monday in Nova Scotia. The premier needs child care to keep his voters happy. You can’t be both at the most serious part of the pandemic and say schools are safe. Maybe the premier should visit some schools ? #nsed#nspoli
Do we , or do we not, have the right to a safe workplace ? The news conference just admitted there will be spread in schools. We’ve been told for 2 years this isn’t “just the flu”. With two kids home of my own, I want assurances all reasonable measures for safety are taken #nsed
@NSTeachersUnion The rules for the general public on gathering size have never applied to schools. Not even recognizing the need to open testing teachers and staff at schools is baffling.
Sure send us back but give us appropriate PPE and access to testing.
So, contact tracing in schools looks like COVID+ people (who don't know what a close contact is) deciding who is a close contact, MAYBE maybe getting in touch with them IF they have contact info for them.
If they don't & people get sick?
That's OK cause schools are safe. Wha?
Even as COVID-19 cases remain high, Nova Scotia's education minister says schools are the best place for children to be.
But some parents are concerned, as one says "long-standing issues are simply not getting resolved.”

@Tim_Bousquet On testing : the ministers answer was evasive. Yes teachers are working hard , but the impact to learning is evident at all levels. Some at DOEECD have their head in the sand.
