Overnight Skunk Ape research is going to wait for more favorable weather. The lack of campfire smoke to keep the biting insects at bay and temperatures in the 90s with 90% humidity makes for a miserable time. This expedition packed it up just after dark. Day trips are still on.
An FSAR duo hiked some miles in the heat looking for Squatch. The peace sign structure is thought to be over a decade old. Who or what built and maintains it is a mystery. Somebody added Harry to the scenic overlook sign too.
Interesting hike today. Was to be a gear test of a new chest rig (note the morale patch), but we located a cypress tree that had been pinned into an arch. The meaning of that Bigfoot behavior is still up for debate. Also found scat that Google lens couldn't ID.
This is FSAR's 1st exploration of this location which has a credible sighting on the BFRO map. There are plenty of resources to support large hominids, plus fun vines to swing from!
A couple FSAR pals hiked a trail with a promising name. River headwaters are low from drought, but the mud didn't reveal any prints this visit. Maybe next time.
According to one weather app, wildfires are impacting Florida disproportionately right now. There's a drought, and only a little rain in the forecast. So if you are going out in the woods, remember what Smokey The Bigfoot says...
Another Cypress Creek overnight. Had the campground to ourselves. Swampcamper broke in a new skeeter shelter and camp stove. After a colorful sunset, the bushes around the perimeter started rustling. Intermittently all night.
Return to Cypress Creek. SoxSquatch brought delicious sustenance and his trademark socks. So far we found a common reptilian, but the night is just starting...
@TeaandCryptids We have members that are open to the "Woo" theories about Sasquatch, so we use Geiger counters and EMF detectors to see if something unseen is in the woods.
Hike With Mike gave permission to add a link to his footprint find YouTube video on the FSAR account. His channel is more nature focused, but he felt inclined to post this unedited clip.

Another overnight has concluded at Tillis Hill. Turkey hunting is still on the calendar, so all creatures are laying low. The wind was gusting day and night, causing many limbs to crash down and give false hope Skunky was nearby.
SoxSquatch and Campfire Steve returned to Cypress Creek for an overnight. Rain was forecast, but stayed east as of this post. Did a couple night hikes. Watched the original 1987 Predator to keep hyped!
