Today, FSCJ hosted a ribbon-cutting to celebrate Florida's first advanced semiconductor workforce training lab developed by #FestoDidactic! This lab will give students hands-on experience with cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies and prepare them for careers in the growing semiconductor industry.

What a night! The FSCJ Artist Series, sponsored by VyStar, kicked off another incredible season of bringing theatre and entertainment to Jacksonville.

This year also marks a special milestone, as the Artist Series honored the legacy of Dr. Milton Russos, whose dedication and passion have helped shape the series and enrich our community.

Yesterday, FSCJ received a proclamation from the @CityofJax, officially recognizing the College's 60th anniversary. Dr. Avendano, along with members of the District Board of Trustees, representatives from the Executive Leadership Team, 60th Anniversary Committee members and students gathered at City Hall to accept the proclamation. #FscjIs60

Congratulations to @FSCJ_Official (FSCJ) on securing more than $7 million in a Florida Job Growth Grant Fund via @FLACommerce to support the new Cecil Training Institute adjacent to Cecil Commerce Center.

This investment will expand workforce training opportunities in critical fields like HVAC, welding, advanced manufacturing, and logistics, helping meet industry demand while creating pathways to high-quality careers across Northeast Florida. The new facility is expected to support an additional 324 HVAC and welding program completers over the next decade.

We are proud to support FSCJ and its commitment to strengthening Florida's workforce and preparing the next generation of skilled professionals. Thank you to @FLACommerce, @GovRonDeSantis, and our legislative delegation for your partnership in making this project a reality!

We were thrilled to welcome Governor Ron DeSantis to our FSCJ Cecil Center today as he announced a $7 million grant to expand skilled-trades programs through the Cecil Training Institute. The funding was made possible through the Job Growth Grant Fund, the Department of Transportation’s Spaceport Improvement Program, the Florida Defense Reinvestment Grant Program and the Florida Defense Support Commission. Officials said the center aims to train about 1,000 workers a year and serve roughly 1,250 high school students annually.

We are excited to see how this gift will support our students and strengthen the community we serve.
