I learned some great advice long ago about the three most important words in turkey hunting: location, location, location.
If you aren’t where he wants to be, or is willing to go, it ain’t happening.
Knowing the turf and choosing the right setup is so critical.
I once called a gobbler across the Tombigbee River to his death, and a year later missed a gobbler and had him fly the Alabama River, only to go back to gobbling and eventually getting killed. Turkeys giveth and taketh.
@KincaidEric@WhitetailLegacy Nailed it Eric. Should they disclose that when talking about it? Well yeah, obviously. If you show me pics of your 200” high fence deer and try to pass it off as free range then I’m liable to call Boone and Crockett, and that would be embarrassing for both of us😂
In my opinion, there’s a stark difference between conservation and preservation. Conservation is actively and sustainably managing land and wildlife through responsible utilization...preservation is “leaving it as God intended.” Eventually, God manages it if humans don’t!
October lull got you down? No worries! Just remind yourself that it’s not real, wait for a cold front, and GET OUT THERE! Find the scrapes, find the acorns, and you will find the bucks.
