Each year, close to 4 million people die prematurely from illness attributable to household air pollution from inefficient cooking practices, the bulk of which is in sub-Saharan Africa. This number of deaths is more than that of HIV-AIDS, TB and Malaria combined.

The fact that 600M people in sub-Saharan Africa are living in energy poverty is a human rights issue. We can’t really talk about wide-scale development unless we fix this energy poverty issue.
