I think Bernardo Silva is going to pleasantly surprise people. Some of his attacking numbers dropped but mainly because he played deeper last season. But his defense and passing is still at a very high level. Would not be surprised if we reflected on his signing as a success by the end of the season.

Lots of recency bias with him. I think people have the World Cup in mind without really factoring in that Portugal team was A) tanked by one of the worst international managers we’ve seen; B) they had Neves, Vitinha, Bruno in the XI already. Also see some unfair statements on him because of losing Rodri.. “the wrong midfielder from City”. Eh, I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Camavinga’s problem isn’t his lack of quality, he’s always been an incredible talent, the problem is his lack of professionalism and his consistent injuries, which when combined, he’ll struggle to be a starter. His quality is undeniable.
