@HJB_News__ This is after the marathon has finished, and the volunteers who were handing out water to runners have gone. It’s just water in bottles of no real value.

@BBCBreakfast The only people who will make money out of this will be the cowboy installers - Government always fail to regulate and police the providers/installers - double-glazing, cavity wall and lift insulation, solar panels and now heat pumps.

@asentance My simple thinking (correct me please if misguided) is that economic growth provides revenue for the exchequer through increased corporation tax/income tax/VAT etc which can then fund government objectives/projects. Increasing taxation to do so acts to dampen economic growth,yes?
@simonnread Financial institutions are keen to have senior FCA staff as Heads of Compliance or on their executive boards and are willing to pay good salaries - so FCA have to pay well just to keep them. Also FCA take experienced senior staff from the financial industry but have to match pay.
