The ANC still doesn't understand that you don't empower black people by compelling existing companies to co-opt them as shareholders and "directors". This model almost always benefits the black political elite and those who are tied to it.

The English built their own institutions. The Afrikaners did not fight for inclusion in English institutions. They mobilized resources in their own communities and used them to establish institutions.

When is the ANC going to learn that black people can only be empowered through their own institutions?
