At the JW conventionI I attended I noticed they did not announce the attendance figures. A bit strange for this side of the world. I know people eagerly anticipate to hear the numbers. Anyone knows if this is a new development?

This is probably old, but I just watched it today. A JW confessing to a murder he committed 10 years before. The way he kept referencing Jehovah and His approval, I wonder if he first approached the elders and they encouraged him to turn himself in 🤔https://t.co/UK9HX8Ms1j

@LTheseconed I remember I always told my friends that I respected more people who had to learn and join than those of us that were born into. It takes some serious level of commitment to buy into the JW beliefs and actually join. I know I definitely wouldn't have if I wasn't born in.

The mention of the Broadcasting and the Library app reminds me of an announcement Lett made a few years ago. He said the JW Library would be revamped, with some new features. It would've been a big impressive project apparently. Whatever happened to that 🤔

@NCutama It's amazing, in a sad way, to hear them justify all the crazy changes their organization has done recently. One lady was telling me how removing the time counting is a proof that Jehovah is really guiding them and we should follow.

@A_BOMINATION In my congregation the speaker actually said 'we should not even try to reason on the directives, because if we reason we are giving satan a chance to catch us. We should just obey without question'. I was so disgusted I literally froze

It's amazing how in the #bible at Gen 3:22 God almost sounds concerned that humans now got the ability to know between good and evil. What, he expected them to be robots? Not know the difference and just behave as programmed?

Silo S01E01 was an interesting watch. The parallels the story has with cults and waking up and trying to convince others of the illusion they're in, then eventually making the decision to leave which is essentially the same as dying.

@NewyorkerRican Having said that though, I don't feel bad for JWs. When replying to my jw frnds & fmly I keep pointing out that mass shootings do happen, in different places to different people. Nothing about this is an 'attack on God's people' as they keep putting it.

@NewyorkerRican It's really sad what happened. Read the article on avoidjw and to me it seems like the shooter was just a messed up extremist. It may have, to some extent, but I don't think it's actually shunning that pushed him to his actions. The guy was just a psycho neo-Nazi.

I really find some #bible passages really disgusting. Why would you 'shun' a child and his descendants for something he had nothing to do with? OT is just a flipping sh*tshow. How do we even respect this book???

If I had limitless ability and resources to build a spectacular mansion on a vast available plot, I wouldn't put it in the far end corner. I would build it right in the center, or at least place it in such a way that it shows the mansion is my most important..
