@OghenefegoOfili ... there have been rejection alerts on beans exported from that country due to pesticide contamination. E.g., use of chemicals banned in destination countries for export are flagged. If unchecked at the informal market level in-country, poisoning with fatal consequences occurs.

@OghenefegoOfili Excellent explanation, my dear brother - Dr. Shokunbi. Perhaps the writer or reporter did not check for exogenous/chemical contamination. E.g., pesticides in beans or chemicals used "illegally" for ripening of plantain? Chemical contamination of foods can be life-threatening.
