The growing pressure to look like a growing company before building the things that allow one to grow.

Is the product working?
Do customers stay?
Can the operation handle growth?
Does the business model actually work?
Do people trust you?
Marketing matters. But attention is an accelerator, not an engine.

One thing I've learned from working in #communications:

The problem isn't always that people aren't listening.

Sometimes, the #brand hasn't figured out what it actually wants people to understand, believe, or do.

This is the gap that good communications should aim to fill.
