Neighbors to the south are the Shrieky Children Neighbors; to the west, the Barking Dog Neighbors; all around, the Leaf Blowers & Lawn Mowers Neighbors; and we, here at Elsewhere, are the Bellowing Cats Neighbors.
Our contribution to the local symphony is my favorite annoyance.
@Stitch_resist @aGirlCalledChar @jordan_lunt @ReaFaceToFace@Violaine@Lance_Bayleaf Was gonna say "fake news" but honestly if I go outside to look at the moon I'm probably going to have some sincere thoughts about the beauty of existing
I reserve the curses for being out in traffic, or when a bitch earned it
Now that @Netflix has a comics imprint I expect to see THE OA finished in comic format
Dead serious, please give us resolution, I don't care if it's storyboards in comic format, FINISH THE OA I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS
Headphones on, everything calm and still, just casually going through stuff I wrote a while ago, no neck pain or jaw pain or passive awareness of heartbeat
Everything is WAY TOO CALM THIS MUST BE A SIGN SOMETHING BAD IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN, I KNOW HOW FORESHADOWING WORKS, PANIC TIME
@theemetris@hasanthehun Hella easy for it to just fade into the background humor tbh. Unless you're preprogrammed to flinch at periods
I don't get why people are wringing their hands over this. They exist in a lot of households. They aren't enema bags. They don't take a lot of explaining.
@theemetris@hasanthehun Parents and older siblings also have periods
It's just personal stuff that belongs in the house
Kinda like toilet paper or soap
We returned to the screened in patio, since this song seems to be a safety test.
Two doves appeared to be fighting for who returned to nest duty first.
And now the crows are back, so I'm casually outside again while a dove considers its options.
It is fascinating to observe avian behavior after an attempted bird-snatching. The crows dispersed. Some finches and a hummingbird began lingering in the trees. A dove perched on the treetop where the crow had been and sang. Moved closer, sang. Landed on the roof, sang.
There are now crows skulking about. One dove swooped at the crow perched at the top of a tree and left again. I can hear a dove calling from another tree on the far side of the house. V& I are sitting in the yard still, watching, making the predators uncomfortable.
V& I were sitting on the patio, listening to a Martha Beck podcast and finishing food.
A kestrel swooped down the length of the yard.
I said, "Did you see him checking out the dove nest?"
30 sec later, the kestrel shot back the other way, pursued and attacked by a dove.
We checked on the nest. While we were assessing for damage, the kestrel returned.
We did not go back inside. We stayed close enough to make the kestrel nervous about trying again. It mumbled (to itself or to us) for a bit, then flew off.
The doves are nearby, but...
