Orthopaedic trauma surgeon, founder of Team Broken Earth and Dollar a Day Fdn. MHA for Humber-Gros Morne, former Premier of NL and Liberal Party leader.
Haiti never really leaves you. More than a decade after @TeamBrokenEarth began there, I’m still struck by the courage it takes to keep showing up under increasingly dangerous conditions.

A real pleasure meeting Victoria Mboko this evening. What struck me most wasn’t her tennis résumé, but her humility, authenticity, and perspective. An outstanding ambassador for Canada.
Proud that @nationalbank supports her and Canadian tennis. Wishing her every success 🎾
Spent the past couple of days at Farnborough International Airshow with the National Bank team.
Different energy than the hospital or legislature, but building things that matter. Real opportunity here for Canadian companies. Thanks for having us!
Natuashish has lost a remarkable Elder. Joachim Nui Sr. passed away this week at 92, one of the last nomadic Innu Elders and the last traditional Innu drummer in Labrador. I got to know the Nui family during my time in office. My condolences to them and to the Innu Nation.
Saddened to hear of the passing of Eddie Goldenberg. I met him briefly and his passion for Canada was obvious even then. A public servant who shaped this country for decades, from the Charter of Rights and Freedoms onward. Condolences to his family.
Kyiv again. Overnight, a Russian missile and drone attack killed at least 21 people and injured dozens more. Buildings collapsed, families sheltered in subway stations instead of their beds. I walked those streets not long ago. This one hits differently.

To the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis across Newfoundland and Labrador and all of Canada, thank you for the cultures, knowledge, and resilience you carry forward.
Reconciliation is a commitment we honour in actions, every day. #NIPD2026
Wembley tonight. Harry Styles on the bill, @ShaniaTwain opening, and my friend @kendelcarson playing fiddle right alongside her.
Wild to see someone you know light up a stage this size. Go get em’ Kendel!
I’ve known the Newhook family for a long time and it’s been awesome to watch Alex & Abby chase their dreams.
Alex is having an incredible playoff run, and Abby is making a name for herself in professional hockey too.
Team Newhook!

A heartwarming story for the day - two Newfoundland men helped rescue a moose after it took a tumble on the highway near Marble Mountain https://t.co/VtyVhXe8yk
There’s nothing quite like public service. It asks a lot of a person and their family.
Thank you to @francoislegault for your deep commitment to Quebeckers and all Canadians. It was my privilege to work with you to write a new chapter in the story of our two provinces.
Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from ours to yours.
Hope this season brings joy and time with the people who matter most.
Today we mourn Dr. Falah Maroun, a giant in surgery whose legacy lives on through the surgeons he trained and the lives they continue to save.
Our deepest condolences to his family, including his beloved granddaughter.
Rest easy, Falah.
Thank you Ambassador @KirstenHillmanA for your leadership and commitment to strengthening the relationship between our two countries. I wish you continued success in all that lies ahead!
Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbours in the United States.
Canada and the U.S. share a strong partnership rooted in trust and cooperation. With American in-laws in my own family, this day holds special meaning. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and bright year ahead.
Spent time across four parishes in Jamaica this week, hearing firsthand how #HurricaneMelissa has impacted their community and the healthcare system.
We’ll be back to Jamaica soon with @TeamBrokenEarth to provide our care to the civilians who need it most.
Day one in Jamaica meeting with locals & navigating what #HurricaneMelissa left behind.
Our countries have shared ties for decades, so being here on this mission feels like honouring that in the most practical way possible. Whatever tomorrow brings, we’ll meet it side by side.
That’s a wrap on my time in Guatemala. Big smiles after surgery, families reunited with hope, and stories that will stay with all of us long after we leave.
But there’s still work to be done… heading to Jamaica to help those affected by #HurricaneMelissa@TeamBrokenEarth
A humbling day here in #Guatemala with @TeamBrokenEarth.
Today our volunteers worked side-by-side with local partners to deliver total hip replacements, urology care, gynecology services, general surgery, and plastic surgery to patients who need it most.
