Because of a medical emergency on board (someone with serous heart problems) we had to land in #Iceland. This was on my #BUCKETLIST, but I did not expect it to turn out this way... Unfortunately we are not allowed to leave the plane. But I will be back for sure.
I really like these refill points for water bottles. That's a nice way to safe money and it's good for the environment. Here I refilled my bottle at #Frankfurt#Airport.
Summer has finally arrived! The people of #Hamburg are drawn to the different #parks and the waterfront. Since I was at the #Alster yesterday, I went for a swim in the #lake of our #Stadtpark today. This centaur kept an eye on us meanwhile.

How about a nice cup of "Cidre"? This wine made of apples is traditionally served in what we would consider coffee cups. Here at #TiBreizh I would strongly recommend it with their delicious Bretonic Crêpes.

Having breakfast the international way at #BergersAmSerrahn in #Hamburg: "Turkish breakfast" with a French coffe (Cafe au Lait) and a Portuguese one (Galao). In the evening we'll return for a Spanish Dinner - Wednesday it's Tapas at #Bergers.

Maybe you wonder where in this world I have been to this weekend. Turns out that all four of these #statues are located at the #birdpark#Walsrode in northern #Germany. They form an excellent background for all the birds they keep at this park.

The oldest house of #Erbach is the such called #Templerhaus from the 14th century. The name suggests a connection to the order of the Templars. However the name more likely derives from "temple". Here lived the nobles of lower ranks close to the #castle.

Duke Franz in front of "his" #castle in #Erbach. It contains a collection of roman #antiquities which he is said to have smuggled across the border hidden underneath his roman toga. The castle also contains knight armors and antlers. #Germany#sightseeing#Odenwald#travel
#Erbach im #Odenwald is my home town. About 30 years ago this #park was just empty space about to be turned into a mall and apartment house. The inhabitants of Erbach were furious. Plans were changed. And look at what became of it instead! Isn't it lovely?

The weather in #Germany still was partly rainy this morning as I went for a walk in the central #park in #Hamburg. These cute penguins on their #fountain are located at the end of the rose garden. They didn't seem to mind the rain at all...
