What started as a ban on sales quickly morphed into a push to outlaw possession as well.

The Rhode Island House introduced H8073 as a follow-up to last year’s legislation, which prohibited the sale of so-called “assault weapons” while allowing existing owners to keep theirs.

Now lawmakers are moving to force owners to surrender them or face felony charges.

Fiocchi's new C-sUAS rifle rounds. A shell like copper alloy jacket, housing 23, 2 mm tungsten pellets, tipped with a plastic ballistic cap. Trades lower muzzle velocity for increased payload to increase hit probability. Pellets are released once the jacket separates in the air.

Senate Bill 17 (STOP ILLEGAL GUN TRADE ACT)

This bill has an innocuous name that hides the breathtaking purpose of the sponsoring legislators.

BACKGROUND:

1.) Bans the sale and transfer of commonly used firearms classified as semi-automatic. Rifles, handguns, and shotguns are all included. 22 Rimfire firearms are excluded from regulations.

2.) Bans the sale or transfer of magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.

3.) Gives the Department of Public Safety additional authority to determine. at their discretion, any firearm that meets the Legislature’s definition of semi-automatic firearm.

4.) Bans 50 caliber centerfire rifles and ammunition.

5.) Tasks the Department of Public Safety to establish firearms sales control and inspection system duplicating many of the measures already performed by the federal ATF.

6.) Mandates security measures of sales facilities to be developed and dictated by DPS.

7.) Limits firearm sales to individuals to no more than one in five days.

8.) Adds additional tracking controls, reporting and inspections of gun sales by Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) to the Department of Public Safety.

9.) Directs FFLs to not process background checks for firearms transfers between individuals Thus preventing private firearms transfers between individuals for the regulated items.

Subject: STOP SB 17 Firearms Sales Ban

Vote DO NOT PASS on the Stop Illegal Gun Trade Act (SB 17), which is ACTUALLY a ban on the sales of nearly all semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns, and normal capacity magazines.

If this bill becomes law, it will:

Ban sales of nearly all semi-automatic firearms and normal capacity magazines over 10 rounds.
Establish an expensive taxpayer funded state government program under Department of Public Safety to ensure compliance with the provisions of this bill. This system will duplicate nearly all requirements currently performed by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Explosives and Firearms (ATF) programs and establishes numerous and onerous requirements, procedures and inspections in addition to those required by ATF.

The provisions of this bill will essentially regulate individual FFLs and small firearms retailers out of business.

The result will be that law abiding citizens like me will not be able to purchase, within the state of New Mexico, the most popular and modern firearms available. It will also limit my ability to purchase ANY firearm by forcing FFLs out of business.

Please vote to stop this bill’s unreasonable restrictions on my right to purchase firearms and ammunition.

WA HB-2321 if passed — July 1, 2027 no more 3D printers can be sold or transferred in Washington state unless they contain firearm and firearm parts blocking features.

Section 6 goes into detail about requiring the blocking in firmware and even slicers to have handshake code, likely to prevent existing and older slicers from being used.

If printer companies don’t comply, goodbye to 3D printing YouTubers in WA. 👋
