The idea that LaMelo was a "unserious" or a "losing player" was always a narrative pushed by the national media. They refused to acknowledge the context he existed in when he played in Charlotte. Now that we will see him in a next context watch them move the goal post and say something like "he had to learn how to win" or something to that effect that ignores the change in context and talks about him in a vaccum.
Crazy how so many would say theyโve watched Lamelo play yet so many are currently shocked by how good he is. Looks like yall were lying (which was obvious)
ESPN's @BenGolliver says the Hornets' biggest roster hole is a "pass-first organizer." ๐ค
"Charlotte will take a by-committee approach to replace LaMelo Ball. Kon Knueppel, Coby White and Dennis Schrรถder are all hybrid guards who can score and distribute, while forward Brandon Miller has untapped potential as a playmaker for his teammates. The Hornets still have enough offensive weapons to make a more egalitarian approach work, in part because Ball didn't quite measure up to the league's best offensive engines in terms of efficiency and impact."
