Commercial greed ruining one of Ireland’s most lovely places. “Warrenpoint: Residents have 'had enough' of port stenches” BBC News @RostrevorRARE https://t.co/h6XrXeN9AB
@MckeeganClaire@ForMuckamore@GabrielScally Any of us fortunate enough to have Claire as our Advocate knows that at least with her there is someone who will never stop fighting for truth with justice.
A hard-hitting @bbc Radio4 programme about the UK’s largest ever abuse scandal about vulnerable people. It has happened in N Ireland but has received little public attention. Congratulations to @NoelTitheradge on a great investigation. https://t.co/dfGXciR4LH
A charming Valentine’s Day story of a Mexican couple at Bristol University: Newlyweds beat 1 in 10k odds for scholarship - BBC News https://t.co/QxV0KhCjDu
Presidential Memecoins. Oligarchy. Withdrawal from WHO. Removal of Biden protections on Pharma costs. Mexico and Canada to face 25% tariffs imminently. Uncertain future for Ukraine. No president has so damaged the reputation of the USA in so short a time.
@mlchealth@BBCNewsNI Why did NI not implement the primary HPV screening test? It was agreed at a UK level in 2015 and NI participated in that decision. Why was poor individual performance in labs ignored? 2/2
@mlchealth@BBCNewsNI Great reporting of the real story. There are plenty of questions to be asked about why NI has had such a flawed cervical screening programme. Why did it take many, many years to stop piecemeal reading of the slides in four different labs? 1/2
NI’s cervical screening scandal. @BBCNewsNI first started this investigation over 2 years ago. Today the Reviews are published. A difficult day for all the ladies and their families. This story is not over. https://t.co/oxQcwMEens
@GarethRoberts0 I should also add that I continue to admire enormously all that you and your family have done. You are an inspiration to all those who support truth and openness in patient care. What’s more you are winning - change will come!
@GarethRoberts0 Gareth, I was on Radio Ulster at 5pm this afternoon, spoke forcefully on the subject. I’ve watch most of the debate and was impressed by the MLAs in general. The Minister was floundering badly in arguing for yet more consultation and delay.
This is maddening.
Endemic viruses do profound harm, never mind pandemic SARS2, but they're "predictable"
SARS2 evolves ~3-4x rate of fastest seasonal 'flu, H3N2
We vax kids vs flu, not SARS2, RSV or VSV (yet...JCVI recs?)
Individual acute/long-term risk SCALES BY PREVALENCE
My latest piece for the @IndependentSage s*bstack series on how "Just the flu" has been such a damaging theme throughout the pandemic...

@DeptofFHed @podonovan Bravo! I am delighted by the Irish Government’s very wise decision. @aoifemcl is an outstanding scientist and a fantastic communicator.
Flying back to #Dublin on @Ryanair. Paid priority to be able to carry on a 10kg bag. Photo of bag below, regular cabin bag size weighing under 10kg. I was required to pay £75 to have the bag tagged (even though my boarding card says the payment is up to €75 or local currency equivalent). Beware of @RyanairPress extras.
