(you can reread an email, not a phone call) and harder to make changes if nobody is there to answer the phone (which happens frequently). Lastly, there is the refusal of so many physicians and departments to communicate by email that it becomes very hard

(no patients on crutches waiting for 30 minutes for a nurse to take their documents), less use of hospital resources, and less stress on patients.
Another issue is that all communication goes via telephone making it harder to accurately keep track of appointments

přes 15 let se léčím v motolské nemocnici. Zdejší personál je vysoce kvalifikovaný a zajišťuje špičkovou léčbu, způsob komunikace s pacienty (nebo spíš nekomunikace) je však tragický.

via Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, Webex, Teams, or whatever tool the hospital prefers.
It seems that there is very little interest in changing this even though there would be countless benefits for the hospital as well such as emptier waiting rooms
