It's not just a normal fin(usually placed for stability) it's a control surface, it helps in movement of the rocket within the atmosphere, as the core stage SRB does not have a proper way to gimbal.

Refueling was completed a bit late due to the late arrival of solid propellant. Completed today itself(targeted date was Monday).

SRB hotfire test complete. Engine performance meets nominal parameters. Booster refurbishment and refueling are underway. Stacking operations have commenced; final stack completion is targeted for next week.
