As we enter the sixty-fifth week of January, it's easy to stay hunkered down inside, to think that there's only grey and dark beyond the window. But if you adjust your field of view, there's still so much beauty and wonder out there, I promise. The winter trees show off their intricate lacework above your head, the skeletal shapes of old grasses and seed heads are sculptures to line your path, and the colours of last year's leaves are pale and subtle all around you. Your footsteps make barely a sound as you walk on the soft earth, and you always go home with your heart a bit lighter.

👋 I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU for all your kind comments and your support, and to say hello to anyone new to my account.

By way of a little introduction, I'm a lass who lives in the heart of the Peak District. I love this place to its very bones, and I consider it a privilege to capture it through my photography in all seasons, weathers and moods. I post on social media every single day without fail (whether X lets you see my images or not) to share inspiration and appreciation for this wonderful national park. I love it when I hear how my photographs have encouraged you to visit this area for yourself, sometimes for the first time, and also when people share memories of happy times spent here in the past.

This time 5 years ago, spurred on by the idea that people might like to buy some of my images as greeting cards or prints, I set up a little online shop. The response was incredible and I'm completely humbled by the support you've given me over the years since then. I still sell greeting cards and prints, but now also calendars, canvases, notebooks, notepads, coasters, tote bags, key rings and fridge magnets. In September last year I brought out a book, 'A Quiet Light', and I'm so proud to have sold almost 2,000 copies, with not a single big retailer involved.

I run the business all by myself. There's no "team" behind the scenes. I take the photographs, design and source the products, process the orders, package them and take them to my local village Post Office every day. Every single customer gets a personal email, a little Thank You card, and (although you can't see it) a happy dance.

So thank you, thank you, thank you, for every single 'Like', every kind comment and every order. It's not easy to run a small, independent business, especially at the moment. But it's always a pleasure, and if my photos have ever made you smile or remember happy times or plan a future adventure, then it's all worthwhile. 💚
