Don’t worry too much about analytics, retention, stats, or whatever else.
All I did was create something I knew I would’ve loved playing as a kid. A game I genuinely wanted to exist.
Build something people want to play, but most importantly, build something you love.
Believe in what you’re creating and just do it! ️

I made most of my success on Roblox through game acquisitions. I acquired and ran most of big wins that people talk about when you think of acquisitions.
Here is my advice for developers if they are thinking of selling, or being approached by 10,000 different people asking to "buy" your game.
YOU DONT HAVE TO SELL
NEVER sign a contract with an option, right of first refusal or clauses to buy more of your game at a later date
NEVER SELL MAJORITY
THERE ARENT ANY SECRETS, most of these guys promise that they will help your game, like they are some secret keyholder to the algorithm... most of the people can't or won't help with your game.
The business model is the following: buy a game, and wait for the algorithm to pick it up. If the algo picks it up, put a team on it.
People offer big $$$ when they know your game is going to blow up, so if you are getting offers for millions of dollars, remember that your game is likely to earn that over its lifetime!
There are a few times I suggest selling, if they are the right team, and are providing real value. For example, doing live ops, or only buying a small minority % so you can derisk incase the project performs badly.
You can do it yourself and you will learn more in the process. So remember that!
I never imagined creating duolingo-level animations with AI would be possible in 2026
1. Generate an AI video with Seedance 2.5
2. Vectorize it frame by frame
3. Export it as an animated SVG ready to use in your app

Roblox Developer Tip: Cull your beams manually, they render at infinite distance and aren't subject to occlusion culling.
This + SurfaceGui MaxDistance took 2-3 hours of work, and gave us 8 FPS back (400 drawcalls).
This is will all of Roblox's streaming tech + perf stuff enabled (SLIM, et cetera). So the engine won't take care of you for this.

Roblox has started removing bots off their platform and MANY games are taking hits (especially those with trading and collectible items).
Here is Pet Sim 99...
24 hours ago: 177k players
Now: 48k players
That's a decrease of 129,000 players who were bots. (72.9% decrease in players)
CRAZY!!! (but a W for Roblox)
Getting to 250 engaged players is now a lot EASIER!
Let me explain!
Roblox now has an "Engagement" Campaign type. When you run ads for your game, instead of selecting plays, select "Engagement."
This will prioritize giving you the players that are engaged players, but will lower your CTR and impressions per dollar spent. (Lower CCU, but higher quality players).
I tested with engagement campaign time, which gave me 1-5 CCU, but filled up my engaged players very fast compared to what I've seen other devs do. Below, you can see I spent nearly $80 for 4K plays. (1-5 CCU)
This morning, I ran ads with Plays as the campaign type. I spent $4 for 1.2K plays. (20-40 CCU)
My interpretation from this is either you can pay for lots of traffic, or you can pay for quality traffic, or both, as I did.
TLDR; want 500 engaged? Do engagement campaign type. Want more CCU from ads for the algo? Do plays.
