The Galmudug Journalists Association (GALJA), with support from @UNTMIS_ launched a workshop for 30 journalists & civil society reps to enhance media advocacy for women’s participation in elections

Empowering women and girls is essential for lasting peace and sustainable development in Somalia.

Women currently hold 21% of parliamentary seats — from mediating conflicts to championing education, health care, and community development, they are shaping a more inclusive future. They are also advocating for a minimum of 30 per cent women’s quota as a step toward ensuring every woman has a voice in decision-making.
