update: i offered to buy one of them a shot for “american hospitality” and he kissed my hand tenderly, looked me in the eyes and said “i’ve had more fun in the last 2 days than i’ve ever had in my life. i’m okay. thank you.”
the people in the us for the world cup is a very special moment, anthropologically. i went out to a bar to shake ass to reggaeton, and all of a sudden a hoard of literal german soccer hooligans showed up and are having the BEST TIME on the dance floor.
the 5’0 latina girlies keep throwing it back on them going “we need papers” and the 6’5 wasted german men respond “okay! but vee arr german! alemán!” all while gasolina reverberates through the speakers
@4mier_@KillaKreww@__kelsseaa genuinely, i love this comment. i love that good movies and tv can create magic that doesn’t get questioned. (they film parts in philly, but a lot of it is filmed on a set in LA. happens often. a lot of shows that take place on the east coast are filmed in vancouver etc)
the phrase "lipstick on a pig" has always inspired a deep sadness in me. I think of the pig, looking forward to her big night out, and I bring myself to the verge of tears.
first time i had to get glasses, i was at lenscrafters with my dad. i asked if they had “spike lee glasses”. my dad scrambled to say “she’s joking.” i said “im not”. then my dad and i stared each other down so intensely a hellmouth was torn open in that new jersey westfield.
