Through the eyes of visual artist Carl Beam, today we celebrate the Man in Black - the late Johnny Cash - on what would have been his 90th birthday. A long admirer of Cash’s sorrowful, redemptive music, Beam was himself an enthusiastic amateur guitar player.
In conjunction with the newly revitalized Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum at California State University Long Beach, Gallery Gevik is pleased to share the opening of Rita Letendre: Eternal Space, an exhibition of paintings and works on paper.
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Canadian art icon Rita Letendre.
Wanda Nanibush, Curator Indigenous Art at the A.G.O. summed up the artist when she remarked that Rita Letendre “paints fire and light in a way we’ve never seen before.”
How an artist depicts our natural world can offer a fascinating glimpse into their hopes, fears and dreams. Gallery Gevik's group exhibition “The Land Imagined” features contemporary, post-war and historical Canadian artists working in landscape.
We are pleased to share that from July 21, 2021 to January 2, 2022 a solo exhibition of large format drawings by Shuvinai Ashoona entitled Beyond the Visible will be featured at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Have a Peaceful, Reflective and Enjoyable Canada Day from all of us at Gallery Gevik.

The exhibition, promotion and support of Indigenous Art has been close to my heart since I founded Gallery Phillip in 1976 and Gallery Gevik in 1996. In honour of the wonderful artists that I’ve worked with over the years, I’m delighted to share the following memories - P. Gevik
In honour of their immense artistic and cultural contribution to Canada, we at Gallery Gevik extend our most sincere thanks and appreciation to the world-class Indigenous Artists that we’ve had the good fortune to collaborate with in an exhibition entitled “Place of Origin”
H.M.D. Did you know that the early origins of Mother’s Day can be traced back to the ancient Greece & Rome. This era, known for some of the greatest works of art, has inspired us to highlight one of Canada’s most acclaimed sculptors, Sylvia Lefkovitz, & her bronze Mother & Child.
Gallery Gevik is pleased to present a group exhibition devoted to some of Canada’s most celebrated Post-War artists working in abstract expressionism and colour field painting.

Bedrossian #2
A major theme in Garen Bedrossian's work is his exploration of the relationship between man and nature. As seen in the video below, Garen creates his own abstract evocations of wish trees. Existing in many cultures, these trees are said to possess special powers
Gallery Gevik is proud to feature Garen Bedrossian in an exhibition of deeply moving painting and sculptures. View the exhibition at

We are proud to announce that we are now representing the mesmerizing paintings of Quebec artist Claude De Gaspé Alleyn. He has developed a unique and deceptively innocent figurative style using pointillism, similar to George Seurat.
As part of our on-going exhibition, One Union, Two Art Icons, please enjoy these photos of sculptor Kosso Eloul’s work and the environment in which they are placed. The point of Kosso’s work was to ally the landscape with something man-made, as seen here in “Time” and “Solstice.”
