15 years ago today, history was made, and the way we look at storms and the way tornado warnings work haven’t been the same since.

The Joplin, MO tornado of 2011 was crazy. The speed it intensified and the way you couldn’t see anything due to its rain wrapped state.

BUT.. people came together. Friends, family, neighbors, all helping one another out.

It’s been 15 years and we haven’t seen a tornado as deadly or destructive as, and hopefully it stays that way.

Most of the town has rebuilt, but even now, 15 years later, there are still concrete slabs where families homes once stood strong and proud.

The damage was unimaginable. The hospital that cared for people in times of need, twisted off its foundation.

Sadly, 161 would lose their lives, 1000+ were injured, and millions of lives were changed forever.

To this day, if you look on Google/Apple Maps, the scar of the storm can still be seen to this day.
