@amazing_physics We have know about IC 1101 since 19 June 1790 discovered by William Herschel.
It is only more recently astronomers have know how big it is.
@AstronomyMag Sorry you are missing out an influential woman in science.
Mary Sommerville in her book suggested the presence of another planet (Neptune) which inspired Adams.
@Spicey_Spiney Nice catch. Night skies have been too cloudy here.
Trying to catch an aurora in Sept 2025 I caught a double moonbow instead. The outer one is very faint.
Unexpectedly, woke up to clear skies yesterday, Sky getting light at 3am. Thought I would try the Dwarflab 3 on Splinter Galaxy NGC 5706 supernova - SN2026kid. The capabilities of these little telescope is impressive.
Comparing with other images I think it is fading.
@SkyandTelescope Only once seen a 3.5 Questar up close.
It was so beautiful in engineering terms and looks.
Shame the company has gone after so many years.
Up at 4.30am BST - very surprised to have clear skies.
This is why I love the Dwarflab 3 - set it in Az and was imaging C/2025 R3 PANSTARRS in minutes as dawn approached. Tail about 1.5 deg long.
(Not sure why its blue after processing)
