While this might seem harmless, it actually could lead to serious consequences.

Raccoons are wild animals, and as they lose their fear of humans, like they are in Texas and Washington, they are more likely to scratch or bite. This leads to higher risks of salmonella poisoning and rabies exposure.

So, no matter how cute a raccoon is, keep your treats to yourself.
