Someone who wins “3 bracelets” in fields of 102 people and blank 30 other events while maybe min cashing 2-3 more events does NOT deserve player of the year over a player who consistently gets 2nd, 3rd’s, and final tables in “8 events” where most of those events are thousands of players deep in entries!!

There is FAR more skill in getting 2nd in a 10k or even 3000 person field than winning a bracelet in a $10k entry tourney with 150 entries.

Taking 4th in a field of 10000 runners is FAR more skillful than winning a bracelet in a $20k horse event with 110 players where the winner is basically The one that just catches the cards against the best players in the world at the right time…

Poker is about cash accumulation. It’s about the money! NOT the bracelets.

Small field high rollers counting toward “poker lifetime winnings” is an absurd and illogical metric of “pokers top earners list” and should somehow slowly be eliminated as a top metric for “poker’s best.”
This is the same concept as if I hosted a $1 million buy in event monthly with 10-20 entries and 2-3 of us quickly accumulated $100 million + in “earnings.” Wouldn’t make sense!!!

Someone should start a legitimate poker tourney earnings list that only includes events up to $3k …..maaaaaaaybe $5k……because 99.99999% of poker players will never be able to / or will not , even if able to, play $10k + events consistently and will never ever play $25k events reserved for complete degens
