One of my students at Columbia just told me she was violently arrested by the NYPD for protesting (off campus) and had to go to the hospital. They slammed her head into a truck, she received multiple bruises and a concussion. News flash to US Americans: The outlier political candidates you’re fighting about won’t win and nothing will fundamentally change via the showboat electoralism via the presidential elections.

None of these candidates present a divorce from the current system. At this stage the US is past reform & needs serious change. You can’t change anything using the same tired mechanisms that rotted the system to begin with. You have to acknowledge that in order to avoid repeating the same cycle which has been on repeat for decades. Russia, the Global south and the East all know what many in our country fail to comprehend:

Our government may change presidents but the hegemonic foreign policy doesn’t change because it’s not run by democratic means. It’s not a republic either. It is a hegemonic military intelligence industrial complex. You won’t be saved by Captain America if you continue this pursuit, you’ll be crushed with the weight of a dying empire, as will too many innocents. Only the American people can save themselves and help bring in a different world, that’s clearly moving on without the west.
